About the event

What to Expect:

The Grief Sharing Circle is designed as a place where you can express your grief in a way that feels comfortable and authentic to you. It is open to all, whether you attended the Grief Ceremony or not.

📖 Storytelling and Sharing: This event is all about sharing your stories of grief, whether it's a personal experience, a poem, a quote, or simply naming what you are currently grieving. It's your space to express and connect.

🤗 Supportive Environment: Ola, who led the Grief Ceremony, will be present to offer support and guidance, and Adam, our community custodian, will be holding space for the event.

🪨 Grounding Exercises: The gathering will begin with grounding exercises to create a sense of presence and safety. These exercises are designed to help you center and connect with yourself and the group.

☀️Less Structured, More Open: Unlike the Grief Ceremony, this event is less structured, and still allows for spontaneity and flexibility in how you share your feelings. We won't delve as deeply into the structured exercises of the ceremony.

❤️‍🩹 Connection and Healing: This circle provides an opportunity for connecting with others who have experienced grief and loss. Sharing your story and listening to others can be a healing experience.

👍 Optional Participation: Feel free to participate as much or as little as you're comfortable with. There is no pressure to share if you're not ready, and there's no expectation for how you should express your grief.

This Grief Sharing Circle is an additional opportunity to connect and reflect, offering a different level of openness compared to the Grief Ceremony. If you attended the ceremony and wish to share more about your experience, this is the perfect space to do so.

We look forward to welcoming you to this compassionate and understanding community gathering. Your stories matter, and your grief is acknowledged and supported. Together, we can find solace and understanding as we navigate our personal journeys of grief.

This event is part of a series of events on grief, which includes a talk about grief, and a Grief Ceremony, where we can come together to process our grief, and be held in community.

Remember, you're not alone on this path, and healing is possible.

Food

Please note, the Active Wellness Centre is open from 10am on Sundays serving hot and cold food and drinks, so feel free to pop in before the circle to eat.

Accessibility & Cost of Living

This venue does not currently have accessible toilet facilities and they are seeking to change this. Until then, we are seeking other spaces to host events to ensure as many as possible can attend and that things remain affordable.

We have tickets available for anyone on a low income, no questions asked in exchange for services within the community. If you'd like one of these please email mcrpsychedelic@gmail.com.

Disclaimer

Whilst we'll talk a lot about psychedelics, we ask that you don't bring any with you to the meet-ups, nor solicit them from members. It's worth remembering that possession of these substances remains illegal in the UK and we want to make sure everyone who comes along feels safe doing so.
